Born and raised in Brooklyn, rapper Talib Kweli started writing lyrics as a teenager and has since collaborated with Mos Def, Kanye West and DJ Hi-Tek. Talib Kweli has become one of the most respected lyricists in the hip-hop world. Kweli shares his love for music to promote social causes, including benefitting AIDS and raising awareness. He also works with urban youth through P’Tones Records, an after-school music program whose mission is “to create constructive opportunities for urban youth through no-cost music programs.”
